Time To Dive's 20th Anniversary

After starting the blog about 1year ago, I never gotten back to the point to use it to the purpose it was intended to be: giving consulting information for those outthere sharing the same business as I have: the underwater world or dive centre business.
When you look at www.timetodive.net or log on in facebook, you can have a better look on what operation i run and where my information/expertise is coming from.
The meaning of this blog is to give out pointers and tips to help you increase your business...Now remember, my bases of operation in Belgium, meaning my shops, centres etc, although my playground is the 70% water coverage of this planet.
During the past 20 years, i managed different projects, lived in many (tropical) countries near the ocean and was diving in all the world's oceans and seas...and...never got enough...
Still up to today, i use my job, my daily work to achieve things i would never have been doing when i would have choosen for a regular job (believe, i had...police-officer f.e.)
So, my primary motivation was and is still the dive around the world, taking people into this great adventure and now making my experience availeble to others...
Why? because we all need to work together to create a better position for that what brings us together: scuba diving!

Recently, we started a kids diving project in which we allow very young kids (5y and +) to take their first 'steps' in the underwater world...a lot of things came up into this new world:
to them, the swimming pool is a 'wet' playground...with a maximum depth of 1,5mtr (5ft), they are placed in the perfect situation to enjoy a lot of things without any danger (as long as there is supervison).
The pool being very warm (30°C minimum) gives a unique oppurtunity to involve the kids into the diving world of adults...even organising special acitivities is possible.
In this way, we organised night diving (black out the windows of the pool), boat diving (inflatable boat with electric engine) and even 'wave diving' by using a wave generated pool for a special kids diving day...all this prepares our young ones to a more succesfull career in the diving world...as they grow older, they get more possibilities (and less accidents???)
To the point of equipment, manufacturers have more then enough suitable equipment for kids on the market, so, there is no problem to 'dress' them properly without using to big tanks, too heavy weights and so much bad 'adults' things more...remember, they are only kids, still growing, fragile but not afraid to learn and to experience new things...

Succesfull? What do you think...Involving young kids in a new world will also give the parents a lot of extra family fun, quality time in a stressfree envirronnement where even the slightest 'competition' doen NOT exist...isn't that nice in a world full of competition today...
